The Head of the Department of Architecture, Prof. Daniel Duah has met with the President of the Ghana Institute of Architects, Arc. Tony Asare, as part of efforts to strengthen collaboration between academia and industry.
The meeting, held at Architecture House in Accra, formed part of the Department’s industry engagement activities aimed at enhancing partnerships with key stakeholders for mutual benefit.
Discussions focused on proposed new academic programmes, plans to establish a KNUST Architecture Department Alumni Association, staff and student engagement initiatives, and strategies for translating academic publications into industry-friendly formats to increase impact.
Other proposals included the organisation of a Heritage Round Table Conference.
Arc. Asare congratulated Prof. Duah on his appointment as Head of Department and welcomed the proactive engagement with the Institute.
He expressed enthusiasm about the initiatives discussed and indicated interest in extending similar engagements to other schools of architecture.
Also present at the meeting was the Institute’s Administrator, Ms. Nancy Aidoo.
